CEO: Poland wants discounts for dirty Russian oil

WARSAW, May 14 (PRIME) -- Poland’s oil refineries expect discounts for the intake of contaminated oil from Russia, CEO of operator of the Poland’s segment of the Druzhba pipeline PERN Igor Vasilevsky said at a congress on Tuesday.

“The oil is contaminated with chlorine and the refineries expect discounts for this oil,” Vasilevsky said.

The problem with the quality of oil coming from Russia to Europe across Belarus via the Druzhba pipeline appeared in mid-April. As oil contaminated with chlorides moved through the pipes, Poland stopped receiving the black gold from Druzhba on April 24, and Ukraine on April 25. Good-quality oil started coming from Russia to Belarus on May 2.
